The Chottanikkara Temple is a famous temple of the Hindu mother goddessBhagawati. The temple is located near Ernakulam in the southern Indian state ofKerala and is one of the most popular temples in the state and in terms of temple architecture,this temple stands out to be an ultimate testmonial for the ancient vishwakarma sthapathis (wooden sculpture) in sculpting this temple along with Sabarimala . Bhagawati is one of the most popular deities in the area, Chottanikkara Devi is worshipped at the temple, in three different forms: asSaraswati in the morning, draped in white; as Lakshmi at noon, draped in crimson; and as Durga in the evening, decked in blue. Lord Shiva is also worshiped at the temple. People suffering from mental illnesses commonly visit the temple, as Bhagawati is thought to cure her devotees. One should not miss the 'Guruthi Pooja' in the 'Keezhkkaavu' temple at Chottanikkara. This is a ritual done at late evening to invoke the goddess. Earlier 'Guruthi Pooja' was done only on Fridays. But nowadays, it is performed everyday.

Day 01: Cochin-Chottanikara

Day 02: Guruvayoor

After breakfast leave from Chottanikara to Guruvayoor. Guruvayur Sri Krshna Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Krshna, located in the town of Guruvayur. It is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus of Kerala and is often referred to as "Bhuloka Vaikunta" which translates to the "Holy Abode of god Vishnu on Earth". Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary.Punnathur Kotta is the place where around 60 elephants, all belonging to Guruvayoor shrine are kept or in other words it is the official stable of Guruvayoor temple elephants. Located at a distance of 4km from Guruvayoor, Punnathur Kotta is regarded as one of world's largest elephant parks. The elephants of all ages are housed here which are trained for temple festivals by the temple management that includes the popular 'Elephants race' that takes place within the confines of the temple. One may also watch the traditional medical treatments provided to the sick elephants. Indeed a must see for all visiting the sacred shrine.

Day 03: Madurai

After breakfast, check out from hotel. Transfer to Madurai . Meenakshi Amman Temple is a historic Hindu temple located in the south side of river Vaigai in the temple city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is dedicated to Parvati who is known as Meenakshi and her consort, Shiva named here as Sundareswarar(beautiful deity). The temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city of Madurai. The complex houses 14 gopurams(gateway towers) ranging from 45-50m in height, the tallest being the southern tower, 51.9 metres (170 ft) high, and two golden sculptured vimana(shrine) over sanctum of the main deities. The temple is a significant symbol for the Tamil people, and has been mentioned since antiquity in Tamil literature, though the present structure is built during 1623 to 1655 CE.

Day 04: Rameswaram

After breakfast, Check out from hotel. Drive to Rameswaram Rameswaram is a town in Ramanathapuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on Pamban Island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is about 50 kilometres from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge. Together with Kashi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimages. Hence, it is a bustling pilgrim centre. Ramanathaswamy Temple As a pristine example of late Dravidian architecture, the Ramanathaswamy temple attracts pilgrims in hordes. This is most renowned for its magnificent corridors lined with massive sculptured pillars that have elaborate design, style and rich carving. According to legends, Rama sanctified this place by worshipping Siva here after the battle of Sri Lanka. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the inner sanctum. Gandhamadana Parvatam About a mile and a half west of the Ramanathaswamy Temple, Gandhamadana Parvatam offers a panoramic view of the countryside. It has stepped mandapam or hall and also treasures a footprint that is believed to be of Lord Rama.

Day 05: Madurai Departure

After breakfast, get transferred to Madurai Airport / Railway Station for onward journey. The Dream Days comes to an end and it's time to bid farewell.
