5 Nights 6 Days Cochin ,Munnar,Thekkady, Calicut

Thekkady is located about 257 km (160 mi) from , 114 km from Madurai City and Madurai Airport, 145 km from Cochin International Airportand 114 km from Kottayam railway station. Thekkady is located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants sambar tigers gaur lion-tailed Macaques Nilgiri Langurs.

Day 01: Cochin

Arrive at cochin International Airport, proceed to Cochin. This includes Fort Cochin, The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry, which is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana and The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of a town locally known as the Jew Town. Cochin also boasts of The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India and The Santa Cruz Basilica, which was originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. Another tourist attraction is the Chinese fishing nets which are huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders to Cochin. Overnight stay at Hotel in Cochin.

Day 02: Cochin - Munnar

Arrive at Cochin and proceed to Munnar. Munnar, one of the most popular hill stations in India is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Located at 1600 m above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience. Enjoying the scenic beauty & the marvelous waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by. Arrive Munnar and check into hotel. In the evening you can visit tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers, lust green hills, a place so difficult to describe, very low popular too far from pollution, most of the covered by Tata tea. Overnight stays at hotel.

Day 03: Munnar

After breakfast go for sightseeing Munnar which includes the Raja Malai, a top peak of Munnar where you can see Neel Thar (mountain goats), Muttupetty dam, Indo Swiss project; you can also enjoy boating in the Lake (optional). Overnight stays at hotel.

Day 04: Thekkady

After breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Thekkady which is also known as Periyar. On reaching thekkady check into the hotel and get refreshed. Have a sightseeing tour in and around thekkady. In the evening visit the spice plantation and overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Thekkady

After breakfast Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves. Enroute visit Devikulam, Signal view Point, Anayirangal Dam, Spice Plantations etc. Arrive and check in to hotel. Afternoon enjoys a boating at manmade lake and this is the only wild life sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close from the safety of a boat on the lake. The probable animals to watch are Bison, Gaur, Wild Elephants, Sambhar and a wide variety of birds. Evening free for shopping Tea, Coffee, Spices, Antiques etc.. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Calicut Drop

The blissful holiday in Kerala comes to an end today. Every moment of the trip was memorable but as all good things in life must come to an end it's time now to head for Calicut Airport and board the flight back home.
